Slip Resistant Top Surface – The Coin Top surface pattern in addition to our textured surface are designed to provide an additional level of safety when walking on them. Please click on the image to the right to view a close-up of the Coin Top garage floor tile.
Material – The tiles are made from a high-impact polymer material that is lightweight and strong enough to support heavy rollover loads. In addition, high-impact polymer is extremely difficult to stain. Materials just do not bond well to them so the tiles are quite resistant to stains.
Rigidity – Our specially formulated high-impact polymer is rigid (hard). When the floor tiles are interlocked together to form a floor, the result is a strong solid surface on which you may drive your vehicles. This rigidity is what allows the tiles to be formed with a grid underneath for air and water circulation. One added benefit is that if the concrete in the garage has cracks or imperfections, the floor that is formed on top after the tiles are installed looks perfectly even. In other words, it effectively covers an ugly and imperfect garage floor.
Structure – The Coin Top garage tiles have a solid top surface and a grid structure underneath. This structure makes an air gap between the concrete and the top surface of the tile, and causes the tile to make some noise when walking over them. The biggest benefit of the grid structure is that it allows moisture to escape from underneath. It also provides a thermal barrier between the concrete underneath and the top surface.
Installation – For ease of installation, the 4 loop-to-peg interlocking system snaps together without the need of tools. Two sides of the tiles have loops and the other two sides have pegs. They interlock like puzzle pieces to form any size garage floor. When installing a large area, you may consider using a small rubber mallet and knee pads. Load Capacity – Our Coin Top interlocking tiles are designed for residential garages. The tiles can easily support heavy weights of large vehicles such as SUVs or large trucks. They will also support tool chests, garage cabinets, refrigerators, pool tables and much more. Please note that pinpoint weights may damage the tiles. Heavy loads with high pinpoint weight may cause discoloration. Plywood or another protective flat rigid surface should be used when using jacks or other sharp heavy objects. For permanent vehicle lifts, we recommend that you tile around the lift.
Stain Resistant – The Coin Top tiles are resistant to grease, hydraulic fluids, salt and oil. We have found that acids will damage the surface of the tile. One common example is battery acids from golf carts. It is recommended to place a protective mat directly below the battery on the golf cart parking area.

I purchased these tiles because to help differentiate between to areas of a room. I thought they would hold up to light foot traffic since they are really for a garage space. The tiles snap together easily enough and the finished look is nice, however, they scuff easily and the scuff marks are almost impossible to clean. Why make these tiles in white if they are not sturdy enough to withstand scuffs and they can barely be cleaned.

This makes a tidy floor that is appropriate to a garage, workshop, or other similar space. They snap together easily and firmly, and are easy to cut to fit edges if needed. I mixed colors to pattern my floor (so this same reviews appears with the black product). I installed them over concrete; they are a hard plastic material, not rubbery, so there is a noticeable sound when you walk on them. That doesn’t bother me for my work space, but it would be inappropriate for a location demanding a higher-quality finish (i.e. I would not use it in a laundry room inside my house, but I would use it if my laundry area was in my garage).

I was initially a bit skeptical because you usually get what you pay for. Based on the great price I was concerned about the quality. With this product I believe I got more than what I paid for. The durability has been great. As a matter of fact, the day I installed them I moved a dirt-bike into the garage. When I moved it in it leaked oil all over the new floor. When I first saw the puddle of oil my heart sank. I was worried the oil would leave some stain on the white tiles. To my relief, it all wiped up with no trace or stain. I installed the floor in a checkered pattern with Coin Royal Blue and Coin Gray, with grey ramp edges, and it looks fantastic. The 24X24 garage took me less than 3 hours to install, including cutting the one side and around a stair. The directions say not to use a circular or table saw, but I used a table saw and it worked great and looks perfect. The winter road grime does mess up the appearance when I drag it into the garage, but it easily mops clean. You need to remember to stop the car slowly when you pull in the garage or the tiles can shift a little making a small bubble, but it’s easy to get used to. It’s been 7 months and I really like this product!

I searched many companies and ordered many samples of “plastic snap flooring” and after over a month of reviews and samples, I decided to go with ModuTile Flooring for my garage floor. I fully gutted my garage, walls, ceiling etc. and did a full makeover including insulating all the walls and ceiling, running surround sound, internet and cable hook ups and new lighting. I decided to do a new floor when my 2 year old son slipped on our cement floor and cracked his head. ModuTile tiles were the best samples I reviewed for having traction circles on the tiles, and for having no slickness when the floor gets wet. Calling your customer service was also a pleasant surprise, as I got a real person and no machines to talk to. The woman helped me decide on how many tiles I needed and explained the shipping process as well. I then ordered my tiles on-line, and had the full order delivered to my home in less than 2 weeks. As far as putting the floor down, a rubber mallet and about 3 hours of time and the entire floor was done. Easiest project I have ever done in or around my house. Would recommend to anyone, and will buy again when I build my shed out back.

NOTE FROM MODUTILE: We recommend the use of a plywood between the jack and the interlocking floor tiles when using a jack to lift a vehicle. It will disperse the weight of the load so the tiles are not damaged. The customer mentions it on his review so please read the entire review.
First the negative: Use extreme caution when using a floor jack or jack stand. I wish I had paid more attention to the Details section’s “Load Capacity” text. The weight of my car on the floor jack buckled the tiles, dented where the floor jack wheels were and slightly dented where the jack stands sat. When jacking my car it buckled a couple tiles so I put plywood under it all. When finished I let down the car and a big section warped upward and I thought I had ruined a bunch of tiles. A couple more negatives; there are minor tolerance issues in the design that cause tiles to have a tiny gap and some don’t lay flush (about 1/32 inch). The result as you look across the floor is, it looks like tiles aren’t fully snapped down. Many are raised enough that you don’t see a smooth, flush tile-to-tile floor. My order was missing 43 tiles but only a little skepticism was shown by the customer support and those came next day.
The good news: the flexibility of the tiles allowed me to bend them back into position and pop them back into place. The only tiles that don’t look too good are the ones I initially dented before thinking about plywood to disperse the weight.
Positives: Much easier price to swallow compared to competitors. The look is good, not great due to the tolerance issue described above (I give it a 7 out of 10 for looks). Installation was easy. Clean-up has so far done well with a bit of oil. Shipping was crazy fast. Made in America. Correcting an error in the shipping quantity was fast and relatively painless.

I love my garage now! I was looking on line for a paint that wouldn’t peel within a year to put on my concrete garage floor and a way to fill in some cracks in the concrete, when I came across Modutile! It was the best find in the world, at first I thought it would be to expensive, but once I measured the garage and figured out how much I needed and realized that I could install it myself, I was sold. Not only is it a quality material, it looks great! There are so many color choices, you can get really creative. I used the black and grey tiles in a checker pattern and painted my walls a deep yellow. My garage looks professionally done and looks like it coat a fortune, but it didn’t and I’m proud to say I did it all by myself. I drive a SUV in and out of the garage daily, there is no movement and the tile don’t ever pop. The installations was very easy. “I purchased the garage coin-top flooring for my use. It was around 450 sq ft. The free shipping was good, and I also live in AZ, to which I paid no sales tax, due to factory locations. Installation was simple, and those tiles I had to cut to fit were simple to do by scoring with a box-cutter and then cutting with it again all the way through. Only problems I have had are that a couple of the ‘snap rings/pegs’ have become deformed after installation, reason unknown, but I had ordered a few extra. I also discovered there was not too much pressure needed to snap together after I did a few. The floor looks great and is super easy to clean with dish soap and a push broom, and blow dry with a leaf blower. I did experience one or 2 surprises with the arizona heat however, of expansion! I had to go back and trim again around the posts etc. after an ‘eruption’ in the middle of the garage, but not much trouble. Floor looks great, and I have several neighbors who have already contacted Modutile for info at least. Attached are a couple of photos with my similar-colored Corvette resting on the tiles.”

I take most reviews with a grain of salt but there were so many positives, I decided to go with this product and company. I ordered my tiles on a Saturday and noticed that Modutile processed and shipped on Sunday! Yes, on the weekend! From Dallas to Portland, the tiles arrived on Friday morning. The product was as described and the best price. This doesn’t even take into consideration the 339 pounds worth of tile they shipped for free. When I went to install the tile I discovered a minor error in the shipment and needed a few more tiles based on my under estimation. Okay, so is this where my good experience falls apart? Just the opposite. I called Max on Monday morning, explained the minor error and need for a few more tiles. Max never missed a beat and by time I got home from work, I had an email indicating the FedEx had my new package was on its way! We just finished putting the coin-design tile in our new basement bathroom and are very pleased with the ease of installation (including cutting a few tiles to fit the doorway). The tiles are substantial and fit like a glove in the room. We had to make a modification to the type of edge-tiles we received and called customer service….imagine our surprise to receive shipment notification with a carrier tracking number within 30 minutes of the call. I believe ModuTile is an excellent product…and I know I’ve never received better customer service from any online company.

After a couple of years of “wanting” a custom tiled floor, and after researching all the brands and types, I decided on Modutile. What made this purchase better was that i was able to score my tiles during a pre-holiday sale and covered my 20×27 cement floor for under $1000! Two set backs occured. First was my fault as I was out of the area for a couple months so I wasn’t able to install the floor right away. Second was minor. It turned out they shipped me a case of 60 tiles too many of one color, which left me short by 60 tiles of the correct color. Concerned it had been a couple months, I called and explained the situation. No hesitation… they agreed to ship me the correct color tiles and arranged to have me return the incorrect color tiles on their dime! Excellent customer service! After a couple weeks of use, they are holding up fine. Only advice is to try and avoid turning the front wheels while sitting still on the tiles. Mine bowed up in the center several inches, and I didn’t realize it for a couple days. Good news is that as soon as I saw this, I corrected it and the tiles instantly returned to their correct shape and condition. Very durable! They look good and appear to be of good quality. Overall I’d say that if you are in the market for a custom garage floor, then the value is easily a 4 out of 5. Too soon to tell if they could be a “5” as they are still new. Some might find it hard to spend 4 figures on a bunch of square plastic, but in the end, it will look great. If you spend a lot of time in the garage, these will aid in cushioning your feet and minimizing low back stress, too. Mine are already in need of a cleaning from dogs running thru wet grass and dirt, and tire tread marks. Simple water and a mop should easily do the trick. I went with the coin top, but wish I would have done the diamond plate look instead. They weren’t on sale at the time. Overall I am very happy I did this project as it really sets off my 2013 black Challenger R/T!
Garage flooring for my bike shop , Scott L. – Westlake Village, CA 91361 –
As promised I’m sending pictures of the completed garage floor, together with some explanations and comments. I finally found the time to complete the more tedious tasks involved in fitting the boarder. I used paper to make a template, transfered the pattern onto the tiles with a sharpie, then made the cuts on a band-saw. It’s hard to see in the pictures, but I did leave about a 1/2 inch gap for settling. I filled the gap with colored automotive silicone.
As I tend to spend a great deal of time in the garage restoring motorcycles, I leave the doors open for ventilation. The floor is very eye-catching. I first noticed a lot of cars slowing and the occupants looking in. Soon people were stopping to ask me about the floor. I’ve given many, many people your web site name, and your name and number. I hope it’s leading to new business for you.
Additionally, as I tend to receive offers to buy my bikes from photos, I find the floor is, not only visually stimulating, but I believe, customers tend to think that my garage is a professional shop. It’s a good sales tool.

I have already recommended your company to a friend. I specifically was looking for flooring made in the USA when I stumbled onto Modutile. I believed the price to be very reasonable and from reading others’ reviews and the description of the product I believed the quality would also be good. I placed my order and within hours received notification that my order was shipped.
Being a cautious consumer, I did my research and had only found one complaint against Modutile which unfortunately gave the company a bad score.
I have to admit that it did make me a bit skeptical but then thought again. It was only one complaint! No one can satisfy 100% of people.
I received my shipment within a couple of days cross country. Everything was accounted for and packed well. I anxiously began the project the very next day. I have to say this is one of the easiest projects I’ve ever done.
I did have a question regarding the ramps as there are two doors in my garage, one in the front and the other in the back. I was confused as to how to continue the pattern yet have the back ramp connect properly.
I called and got an almost immediate response. I ordered the wrong ramps for the back door. Within an hour, the ramps I needed were shipped.
So bottom line is: I would HIGHLY recommend Modutile and especially love that Made in USA feature.
